Capital Campaign Feasibility Study Planning and Management Services
A brand-led, relationship-based approach to assessing your organization’s readiness for a capital campaign.
When the Idea of a Capital Campaign Starts to Surface
Thinking about a capital campaign can feel like staring up a mountain.
- How do we know if a capital campaign can meet our need(s)?
- How do we know we’re ready?
- Can we actually raise millions of dollars?
- Where do we even start?
- How much time, energy, and expertise will this require?
It’s normal to feel overwhelmed, even before a decision is even made. If you want to start thinking through these questions carefully, we’ve created resources to help you explore capital campaign readiness, including guides on assessing organizational capacity, early brand considerations, and what to expect in a first campaign.
Brand-Led, Relationship-Based Capital Campaign Management
Capital campaigns are complex, high-stakes endeavors, and the most successful campaigns are built on preparation, clarity, and relationships.
Our approach is brand-led and relationship-based, and means we prioritize 1:1 relationship building by intentionally sharing your organization’s story, mission, and values at every stage.
By integrating brand strategy early and consistently, we help you:
- Engage donors meaningfully from the start
- Build momentum before the first ask is made
- Strengthen your organization’s credibility and trust
Unlike other consultants, we don’t treat branding as an afterthought, it is central to every decision. We also use your case statement as a tool to test messaging and build relationships simultaneously: committee input and donor feedback inform your story while creating early engagement that strengthens your campaign before the first ask.
The outcome is a campaign where leadership, staff, and donors feel confident, prepared, and connected, not scrambling or second-guessing at critical moments.

What if the contract ends and the capital campaign goal hasn’t been reached?
Is there flexibility if circumstances change?
Do you offer contract extensions for the capital campaign?
That said, we’re always in your corner. If you ever want to call and talk through an idea or a challenge down the road, we’re there for that at no cost. That’s just part of how we work.
Can we bypass the readiness study and move directly into a campaign, or shorten the timeline?
Why is momentum important after a readiness study?
How much time can we wait between a Campaign Readiness Study and a capital campaign?
We encourage organizations to enter a readiness study with the intention to move into a capital or major fundraising campaign within a reasonable window of time. While every organization’s circumstances are different, waiting too long can reduce momentum, dilute leadership alignment, and make insights from the study less actionable.
The readiness study is designed to inform near-term decisions and next steps. If significant delays are anticipated due to capacity, leadership transitions, or external factors, it’s important to name that upfront so we can assess whether the timing is right to proceed with the study.
Who from our organization should be involved in a capital campaign?
Capital campaigns involve multiple committees and roles to ensure the campaign runs smoothly and meets its goals. At a minimum, the Executive Director and a support staff member handle day-to-day administration and meet weekly to manage the campaign.
Board members are typically engaged through campaign committees, while additional team members participate on committees as capacity allows. This structure ensures leadership oversight, committee guidance, and operational support are all aligned, while respecting each participant’s availability.
What situations do capital campaigns solve for?
What does the workload look like for an organization versus what BrandRaise does?
Think of it as a true partnership. We’re in the process together every step of the way. BrandRaise handles the heavy lifting: creating the content, crafting the narrative, doing the writing, and supporting the administration of the campaign. Your role is to bring the expertise, insight, and heart behind your mission. We take it from there and shape it into something compelling.
Every campaign is customized to your organization. We follow a proven framework, but we adapt it to fit your people, your community, and your goals. Because no two nonprofits are the same, and your campaign shouldn’t feel like one either.
Do we need to hire additional consultants along with you to help with the capital campaign management process?
Nope, you’re covered. Everything you need, from the campaign readiness study through the full capital campaign, is included in your contracts. No need to bring in additional consultants along the way. We walk with you through the entire process so you always know who to turn to and nothing falls through the cracks.
